The University of Free State (UFS) is a public university in the Bloemfontein capital of the Free State that was first established in 1904. The university offers courses in Economic and Management Sciences, Education, Health Sciences, Humanities, Law, Natural and Agricultural Science, Open Distance Learning, Theology and Religion, and Business School.
The university's Health Sciences Faculty in particular, recently put up a billboard in honour of healthcare workers that have been working tirelessly as the pandemic continues to ravage through South Africa, with the country fast approaching 2 million total COVID cases, standing at 1 982 122 cases as of the 15th of July.
Since March of 2020, South Africa has not been safe from the devastation that has accompanied the COVID-19 pandemic. Healthcare workers have since been on the frontlines, day in and day out, aiding the recovery of affected citizens.
The billboard that honours their efforts shares a hashtag (#FHSAnnualLegacyFund), and features the words; "Give our Healthcare Workers a Daily Dose of Recognition"
